Halle Berry Goes Topless in Risqué Photo With Kittens for Catwoman's 20th Anniversary

Halle Berry is celebrating a milestone with the purrfect tribute.
The actress went all in with some topless photos while reflecting on the 20th anniversary of Catwoman, where she played the iconic masked antihero.
Alongside snaps of her donning black underwear and a mask, Halle is strategically covered by her two black cats. She began the July 23 caption by writing, “And STILL... meow!”
“It’s been 20 years today since I had the honor of bringing this iconic character to life,” she continued. “She will always be close to my heart and I will forever be Patience Phillips aka CATWOMAN!”
And while Halle now looks back fondly at her time in the latex black suit, it wasn’t necessarily a shining moment in her career. With iconic portrayals of Catwoman from actresses including Eartha Kitt and Michelle Pfeiffer, the Die Another Day star had some big shoes to fill, but she was up for the challenge.
“I was wildly excited,” Halle told Entertainment Weekly in a joint interview with the cast and crew published July 18. “The pitch wasn’t really a story; it was just the idea of reinventing Catwoman. The studio was a big part of that; the idea was to not do what’s been done over and over but to bring something different.”
For one? Batman, usually the main character in Catwoman’s storyline, wasn’t mentioned—a decision made by Warner Bros.
“The beauty of doing it was because it wasn’t in the Batman universe,” the 57-year-old explained. “Men, historically, get to have big franchises that revolve around them. This was an opportunity to be forward-thinking, pushing that envelope for women.”
The film ultimately faced disappointment at the box office and Halle felt she had carried all of Catwoman’s backlash.
“Growing up as a Black woman, that’s two strikes against you,” she shared. “I hated that it got all put on me, and I hate that, to this day, it’s my failure. I know I can carry it. I still have a career 20 years later. It’s just part of my story. That’s okay, and I’ve carried other failures and successes.”
But along with the paycheck, Halle previously shared she learned a lot from filming.
“While it failed to most people, it wasn't a failure for me,” she said during a speech at an event held by the New York Women in Communication in 2018, “I met so many interesting people that I wouldn't have met otherwise, I learned two forms of martial arts and I learned not what to do."
